It’s been a long time.

It’s been nearly a month since my last post. Too long. I sat down to write a post a couple of times but just couldn’t write anything. I haven’t really been writing that much lately, apart from for uni and that has been poor and rushed. Most of the topics are uninteresting and I just can’t get into them. I spend a week or two thinking about them and then rush something in 20 minutes.

I haven’t been reading much book-wise, either, just Phantastes by George Macdonald for uni, which to be fair I’m enjoying. Just taking my time with it. I was told it was a hard book to read and didn’t want to skip over anything. I’ve got the new Lemony Snicket book sitting on my desk waiting to be opened. Probably after the class test I’ve got in a couple of weeks though.

I’ve been reading as many comics as ever. I’ve just found out that you can get Comixology on Kindle Fire in the UK about 3 months later than it was available. So I’ve put all of my codes in to get free digital copies and am currently rereading Hickman’s Avengers/New Avengers series. I want to be caught up again by the time Infinity 6 comes out. I’m also going to reread the first issue of Marvel Knights Spider-Man before the second, because even though I know I enjoyed it, I can’t remember much about it, other than it being really weird.

I played Batman Arkahm Origins recently. Apart from the annoying amount of bugs in the game I really enjoyed it. The whole series has been great so far and I hope they continue it into the next gen at the same rate. While the bugs have been annoying some of them were just stupid. At one point in the sewers I stepped in a tiny puddle the size of Batman’s foot and he drowned in it. He sunk into the platform and then grappled his way out. That made me laugh. There were also bits where I could walk through walls and end up in bits that weren’t finished or meant to be seen.

I went to see Thor: The Dark World last week and thought that was really good. Better than the first Thor film. My top 3 Marvel films now go; Captain America, Thor 2 and then Thor. I do think that Captain America: Winter Solider will take the top spot but it might not live up to expectations. Thor 2 was really fun. It had a great story and lots of humour. I can’t recommend it enough.

I’m looking forward to a few films to see at the cinema. Kill Your Darlings, staring Daniel Radcliffe. It’s about the Beat Generation, which is an interest of mine. I’m pretty sure The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug is going to be brilliant. I really enjoyed the first one and can’t see it not being awesome. I want to see Ender’s Game but don’t know if I will be going to the cinema for it. Good cast, and while I don’t know much about the plot, the trailer looks good.

In a moment I’m going to go and play Super Mario Bros from 1985. It’s on pause at the moment. I’m the furthest through it I ever have been. I’ve poured so many hours into the game and have never completed it. Hopefully this time, although I’m running low on lives. It takes so long to get 100 coins for a new life.

Thanks for reading,

Ashley.
