There isn’t much to mention on the writing front this week. I’ve been doing bits of my dissertation here and there. I’m being really thorough with this one. It’s not just about how good the story is, I also have to try to impress with techniques and explain myself afterwards. That’s the one thing I can’t stand about fiction writing at uni. Having to write about what I’ve just written. This time it’s got to be around 2000 words. I can’t think of anything to write. But I will leave that til a much later date.

I watched the PS4 Gamescom event thingy earlier today. 29th November is the official date that I can play launch title Knack. I’m really excited about that. I’m shocked that there wasn’t an announcement from Naughty Dog about their next game. Sony mentioned The Last of Us briefly, but I would have thought they would have leaned on that a bit more. It’s clearly one of the better, if not the best game of this generation. I’m stuck between that and Metal Gear Solid 4. Both of them are really repayable and just epic in every way. We still have the 3rd Batman Arkham game, as well as Beyond Two Souls and GTA 5 to come out. I am looking forward to each of these.

I’ve finally started reading Saga. Despite having it sitting in a box for over a year and having my girlfriend telling me to read it when each new issue is released I hadn’t even opened the first cover. I do consider myself a fan of Brian K. Vaughan (I mean the earlier episodes of Lost are excellent. Y the Last Man is just brilliant. And I’m really enjoying Under the Dome). I can’t believe how good this series is. I read all 13 issues back to back. Everyone should be reading this series.

I’ve started watching Friends from series 1 again. I think this is the 6th time I would have watched the whole thing from start to finish. It’s still my favourite show. I don’t know how long it will take me to watch it all. I started on Friday and have watched 6 episodes so far.

Apart from comics I’m not reading much at the moment. I should be reading uni stuff but I can’t be bothered. I’m preparing for NICE (A comic convention in Bedford) and I’m reading as much of Garth Ennis stuff that I can fit in. I’m currently on volume 5 of The Boys. I’m not enjoying this series as much as Preacher or Punisher but it has its moments.
